The severity of the 1987 flooding is well captured in this photograph taken in June that year! On the right are the former premises of Brown and Fenn the funeral directors - later used as a store by Acton Square Building Supplies and then rebuilt as a private residence.

The market town of Sudbury, on the borders of Suffolk and Essex, has a long and fascinating history. Much of the way of life in the town since the invention of photography has been caught on camera.
