A group of Suffolk Territorials from D Co. 1/5th Battalion Suffolk Regiment resting with refreshments amid a crowd of spectators. This battalion was based at the Sudbury Drill Hall. Amongst them is Samuel Ambrose, fourth soldier back on the RH side of the photo, holding a cup of tea. He worked at Armes mat making factory in the Cornard Road. We do not know who the 'Smasher' was in the caption.
