Planes of the 486th Bombardment Group preparing to land at their base on Chilton airfield. They are B-17s so the photo was taken at some point between July 1944, when the earlier B-24 Liberators were replaced by the B-17 Fortresses, and July 1945 when the B-17s returned to the States.
Beyond the river and Friars Meadow you can see the Railway Station and Oliver's Brewery.
