Sudbury’s first Bathing Beauty Contest - Joyce Bear was the winner (4th from left in white costume.) The girl in the floral swimsuit is the mother of Sue Brotherwood, our present Town Clerk of Sudbury. Local solicitor, Alan Phillips, appears to be in charge (in the centre in the shorts.) The venue was the new open air pool at Belle Vue. c1948.
