Lieutenant Colonel George Lancelot Andrewes

5th Battalion Suffolk Regiment

An announcement in the London Gazette Supplement on 10th June 1915 states ’5th Battalion Suffolk regiment; Lieutenant-Colonel and Honorary Colonel George L. Andrewes, retired list (Volunteers), to be Major (temporary).  Dated 11th June 1915’.

George Andrewes died 17th September 1916 aged 60.  He lies buried in Sudbury Cemetery.
